A More Organized Life: How To Be More Efficient And Productive

What can you do when you can’t keep your commitments and procrastinate too much? How can you get on with your life when you can’t get organized and be efficient? Here are the steps to a more organized life. These steps will help you to be more efficient and productive. You’ll love them!
Set clear, interesting goals for a more organized life
We can’t get ahead in life if we don’t know where we’re going. Indeed, how can we stop procrastinating and motivate ourselves if we don’t even know what we’re trying to achieve? That’s why it’s time to make a list of your goals.
To give yourself the best chance of building a more organized life, your goals need to meet two criteria. The first is that your goals must be clear. In other words, you need to know exactly what you need to do to achieve your goal.
For example, “I want to be more zen in my life” is not a clear goal. On the other hand, I want to meditate for 30 minutes every day in order to become more zen in my life is a clear goal.
And the second criterion is that your goals must be interesting. In other words, if you hate meditating, don’t make it your goal, because you won’t keep your commitments. In fact, find another way to become more zen in your life. For example, you could take up yoga, practice mindfulness or any other calming discipline.
What’s more, having clear and interesting goals makes for a more organized life, because you’re really focusing on what’s essential!
Setting deadlines and sticking to them to be efficient and productive
To organize your life, you need to find the right rhythm to achieve your goals. In other words, you need to set yourself deadlines. But how do you do this?
Try to find the happy medium between giving yourself too much time and not enough time. Feel comfortable, but not too comfortable either. Motivation lies somewhere in between. Because we need a little difficulty, but not too much either, to show motivation.
Make a to-do list and set up routines for a more organized life
To live a more organized life, we need to know exactly what we have to do during the day, and also during the week, so that we can move forward and be efficient and productive. But how can we do this?
For example: if your goal is to exercise, try to find a fixed day in the week to do so. If your goal is to start meditating, find the time of day that suits you best and stick to it day after day.
Don’t underestimate the power of habit. Indeed, the quality of our lives depends enormously on the quality of our habits.
Simplify your living and working space for a more organized life
We tend to collect and pile up objects, thinking we can provide for all our needs. The problem is that the amount of stuff around us has a huge influence on our level of well-being and motivation.
That’s why, if you want to be more efficient and productive, and build a more organized life, simplifying your living and working space is essential. So there’s no need to fall into minimalism either. But it is important to get rid of the superfluous and keep only the essential. What do you think?
Learn to manage your time better and avoid procrastination
A more organized life is one in which we know how to manage our time and don’t give in too often to procrastination. In fact, as I said earlier, the quality of our lives depends on the quality of our habits, and it also depends on how we use our time. But how do we do that?
To start with, make a list of all the moments when you procrastinate or get bored in your daily life. Then, for each of them, ask yourself what you could do more efficiently and productively?
In fact, restructure your time, your schedule, your diary. Rethink the way you use your time to do more interesting things in your life, things that make you move forward and progress. Because that’s what living a more organized life is all about.
Learn to say no to focus on your goals
We haven’t really learned to say no. In fact, we’ve learned to make ourselves available to others. But, if you want to live a more organized and productive life, then you’re going to need to learn to say no. To say no to everything that doesn’t really move your life forward.
So, of course, make time to see your family and friends, but outside these times, focus on your goals and your life!
Also, learn to say no to yourself. Learn to say no to your thousand ideas of projects, goals and passions. Focus on what you’ve decided and move on! This advice just changed everything in my life. So, what are you waiting for?
Be flexible so you don’t give up
When we want to live a more organized life, we have to understand that it’s not a life in which we control 100% of things.
In fact, living a more organized life means doing your best to stick to your routines and commitments. But it’s also about being flexible, and therefore creative, when the unexpected messes up your organization. Don’t be rigid in your organization. On the contrary, be flexible!
Weekly check-ups for a more organized life
You can’t build a more organized life overnight. It takes time and a lot of trial and error. That’s why it’s important to take regular stock.
Personally, I find that doing a weekly review is very effective. I do it every Friday. Every Friday, I take stock of my week and how I’ve used my time, whether or not I’ve respected my commitments. Then I think about how I can improve for the following week. This review really helps me to become more efficient and productive in my life. So, what are you waiting for?
Learn from your mistakes and never give up
You can’t become more efficient and productive overnight! In fact, it takes a lot of mistakes to get there. Yes, it’s the mistakes that bring us a little closer to the person we want to become.
So learn from your mistakes and don’t use them as an excuse to give up. Don’t give up, learn!
Encourage and reward yourself to persevere in your efforts
For me, this last step is essential! Knowing how to encourage and reward yourself on a regular basis enables you to persevere in your efforts. Because achieving a truly organized life is going to take an enormous amount of time, and therefore an enormous amount of perseverance.
But this difficult path is not necessarily unpleasant. Quite the contrary, in fact. In fact, you can decide to move forward slowly, surely and, above all, happily! So remember to encourage, congratulate and reward yourself. Give yourself little gifts on a regular basis. Because that’ll motivate you! What do you think?

I recommend this inspiring book:
Getting Things Done by David Allen.
The author presents a comprehensive methodology for improving efficiency and productivity. The book introduces practical techniques for organizing tasks, managing priorities and reducing stress, offering a systematic approach to help us become more focused, organized and effective in both the professional and personal aspects of their lives.
I like the method described. It’s not exactly new info, it’s just broken down into a sensible methodology easily started. If you ever lose a bit of focus during the theory bits, wait for the examples given, they’ll bring you right back to your level. I can’t wait to start forming new habits.
