Hypersensitivity: 3 Steps To Better Living With Hypersensitivity

Hypersensitivity often complicates our lives. We feel weighed down by our relationships, by the way others look at us. And, above all, we’re exhausted. So how can we live better when we’re hypersensitive? Here are 3 steps to follow.
1 – Accepting your hypersensitivity
The first step is to accept your hypersensitivity. In fact, it’s not a question of curing and freeing ourselves from our hypersensitivity, but of learning to live happily with it.
Ultimately, it’s about not trying to be anything other than what we are.
This is the first step towards happiness. In fact, it’s when we reject ourselves that unhappiness sets in.
That’s why I wholeheartedly invite you to accept that you are hypersensitive. Accept that you feel certain things more strongly than others. Accept that you’re more overwhelmed by certain emotions and accept that you’re more demonstrative than the people around you.
This is normal. You don’t have to change anything, just understand yourself better and take good care of yourself.
2 – Don’t position yourself as a victim
When we’re hypersensitive, we often tend to position ourselves as victims of others, making them our executioners. We say to ourselves: it’s other people’s fault, they don’t understand us.
In fact, it’s a matter of realizing that we’re projecting our feelings onto others. In fact, it’s ourselves who don’t understand ourselves.
Yes, we don’t understand our hypersensitivity and, above all, how to live with it better.
So we blame others.
That’s why I wholeheartedly invite you to stop focusing on others, on what they don’t do for you, and focus on yourself and on what you can do for yourself.
Take back responsibility for how you feel, for who you are. Instead of paying attention to others, pay attention to yourself. Take back your own place in your life.
When we’re hypersensitive, we often think more about others than about ourselves, and this only makes our hypersensitivity worse.
3 – Decide to be happy despite your hypersensitivity
The 3rd step is to decide to be happy despite our hypersensitivity. Because, yes, happiness is a decision.
We decide to be happy, because happiness doesn’t fall from the sky and it’s not innate.
So what happens when you decide to be happy and you’re hypersensitive? What happens is that, instead of seeing everything that’s wrong, everything that’s missing, everything that’s stressing us out, we see everything that’s right, everything we have and everything that makes us happy.
In other words, ask yourself: what does my hypersensitivity allow me to experience, to do, to feel? What’s in it for me? And, finally, what do I like about my hypersensitivity?
Take a more positive, curious look at the hypersensitive person you are. See the light instead of the shadows.
