Clear Your Head: 3 Exercises To Restore Calm

When thoughts race, stress assails us and doubts make us suffer, how can we make it stop? In other words, how do you clear your head? I’m sharing with you 3 exercises to free yourself from thoughts and return to calm.
1 – Write down everything that’s going on in your head
In fact, one of the most powerful exercises for clearing your head is to write down all your thoughts, no matter how negative they are, no matter how ridiculous, childish or selfish they seem, no matter how ashamed or angry they make you feel.
In fact, what we’re talking about here is freeing ourselves from the poison of our thoughts, letting them out!
Because our thoughts have real power over us and our lives, and if we dwell too long on fears and doubts, it eats away at our natural joie de vivre and our confidence in ourselves and in life.
Writing down all our thoughts, whether on a piece of paper or on a computer, or even on our phone, is a great relief.
Indeed, while our thoughts are in front of our eyes, they no longer loop around in our heads.
So, when you’re stressed or anxious, angry or whatever, think about this exercise: write down everything that’s going through your mind and, after a few minutes, you’ll feel relieved.
Then don’t reread the sheet or note on your computer, just throw it away and delete the note.
2 – Walk with your feet to clear your head
When your thoughts are too numerous and painful, slam the door and walk!
Walk fast or slow, go straight ahead or take a detour. In fact, trust your feet and let them take you somewhere! It doesn’t really matter.
In fact, it’s an exercise in letting go. Indeed, going without a destination, without a goal to reach, is not something we’re used to. It’s even frightening at first.
And yet, it’s liberating, it allows you to clear your head.
What’s more, as you walk, listen to your breathing and take care to relax your shoulders. Lower them. Feel how tense they used to be, and how they no longer are.
3 – A meditation to clear your head
When your thoughts become too noisy and your heart tightens with fear or doubt because of their negative noise, it’s time to return to calm.
To do this, isolate yourself in a quiet part of the house. Then lie down.
Then take 3 deep breaths. Concentrate on your breath. Slow down.
And finally, start from the tips of your toes and work your way up to the top of your head.
Start with: “I’m relaxing the tips of my toes”, then concentrate on this part of your body as you breathe.
Then continue with: “I relax my feet… my heels… my ankles…”
And work your way up to the top of your head.
As you meditate, you stop listening to your thoughts. It’s magical!
