Making A Difficult Choice: 3 Tips For Greater Serenity

Making a difficult choice is a source of stress and anxiety. We’re afraid of making the wrong choice, of regretting it and of disappointing others. In fact, it’s complicated because choices often raise more questions than they answer. But what if it could be different? Here are some tips to help you make the right choice with peace of mind.
1 – Making a difficult choice: not asking for advice
When it comes to making difficult choices, we tend to ask those around us for advice: “What do you think? What would you do? What do you think I should do?”
And, without even realizing it, with each piece of advice we receive, our choice becomes even more difficult.
Why is that? Because other people put us in boxes. In other words, for some of us, we’re like this, for others, we’re something else… and in the end, the advice we receive contradicts itself.
“Who can we trust?” we ask ourselves.
Ourselves!
In fact, it’s normal to seek advice in times of doubt. But understand that when you ask for advice, you’re really asking for support.
Yes, you need to listen and express your inner confusion.
In other words, learn to ask for support rather than advice. And if the people in front of you can’t resist giving you advice, that’s okay, just listen politely, but don’t take their advice.
You too know how difficult it is to listen without giving advice, so let others do their best.
Just learn not to take advice to trust yourself.
What’s more, you may prefer to look for testimonials. Listen to people who have made the choice you want to make. Listen to the pros and cons. Take note of the mistakes to avoid. That way, you’ll be able to make a clearer decision.
2 – Don’t listen to other people’s advice
Sometimes you don’t ask other people for anything, yet they can’t help but give you advice.
It’s only natural. Just relax.
You’ve got a tough choice to make, so now’s not the time to get angry with the people around you.
You know, this difficult choice probably scares you. And it’s scaring the people who love you too.
And what do people do when they’re afraid for the people they love? They shower them with advice.
I know that’s not what you want to hear, you want support, you want others to trust you, to believe in you.
But right now, you’re losing yourself.
Yes, the most important thing is not what others say or do, it’s what’s going on inside you.
So don’t listen to other people. Don’t take what they say about you personally.
Indeed, when others talk about you, they’re talking about themselves. Yes, they’re projecting their own fears onto you.
In fact, they’re telling you: “If I had to make this difficult choice, here’s what I’d do.
So take a breath and come back to yourself.
3 – Making a difficult choice: don’t believe in the wrong choice
Do you know what blocks you the most when it’s time to make a tough choice? It’s your belief that a bad choice exists.
What is a bad choice? It’s a choice that leads you into catastrophic situations.
Have you noticed that sometimes good things happen when they shouldn’t? And that the opposite also happens?
So what happens after you’ve made your choice is out of your control.
So let go of your fear of the wrong choice.
Your choice will only be bad if you make it for the wrong reasons.
In fact, making the right choice means following the reasons in your heart: what do you want? What do you dream of? What’s important to you?
In other words, don’t make a choice based on your fears, make it based on your hopes. That’s what a good choice is.
