Negative Energies: 5 Tips To Protect Yourself From Them

Others grumble and complain, and that makes us suffer. Because we want to be there for them, but we’re taking on far too much negative energy. So how can we protect ourselves from the negative energies of others? Here are 5 tips.
1 – Listening without trying to save
The problem is that we listen to others in order to save them. In fact, we seek to solve other people’s problems, and that’s normal, it’s human.
We don’t like to see the people we love suffer, we want to see them happy and we tell ourselves that we can, that we must save them.
So we think, we invest, without realizing that on the one hand, we can’t save others.
In fact, we can encourage them, reassure them, listen to them, but we can’t do things for them.
It’s their life, and it’s up to them to do what’s right.
What’s more, we don’t realize that this isn’t what the others need. They don’t need us to save them, they need us to listen to them and trust them to do the right thing.
Yes, others need our love, our trust and our presence. Nothing more, nothing less.
In other words, to protect ourselves from the negative energies of others, let’s not receive the complaints, fears and doubts of others with the aim of saving them from it all, but rather listen to them, instill confidence in them and love, lots of love.
2 – Don’t try to change others
If we suffer so much when we come into contact with others, especially those who aren’t well at the moment, those who are depressed or going through a difficult time, it’s because we’d like them to be different from what they are.
We’d like them to be more combative when they’re scared, more positive when they’re depressed.
Don’t fight what is, accept it.
Accept that others are scared and depressed.
I know it’s not easy to accept this, especially when they’re the people we love most in the world.
But they have every right to feel the way they do.
Just leave them some time and, above all, let them do as they please.
In fact, to protect ourselves from negative energies, it’s essential to understand that we’re not here to change others; we don’t have the power to do so.
We are here to accept and love others as best we can.
3 – Cultivate and nurture your joie de vivre to protect yourself from negative energies
But what do you do when enough is enough?
We need to accept others in their time of need, but we also need to accept our own frustration, impatience and even fear for others.
We also have the right to feel offended by other people’s behavior.
But since we can’t change them, what can we do to protect ourselves from negative energies?
We need to take care of ourselves, and above all our joie de vivre.
In fact, it’s your duty not to let other people’s negative energies contaminate you.
To do this, you need to cultivate and nurture your joie de vivre.
The problem is that we believe we don’t have the right to feel joy when others around us no longer do.
How can we be happy when the people we love aren’t?
The point here is to understand that those people who are currently feeding negative energies don’t need you to do the same. In fact, they need you to feed them positive energies. Even if they can make you believe the opposite.
In fact, you can choose to show them the way, to show them that joy is possible, always present.
In other words, dare to take care of your joie de vivre and lead by example.
4 – Distance yourself from negative energies
Sometimes, to protect ourselves from the negative energies of others, we need to distance ourselves, and that’s normal.
Indeed, when others, even if we love them with all our heart, do nothing but dwell on their grief or anger, sometimes enough is enough.
We can’t take it anymore. It’s like not being able to breathe, it’s terrible.
And that’s when it’s essential to choose yourself, to choose your well-being.
So let’s dare to take a step back.
For example, we can shorten the time we spend with others. Hang up the phone more quickly, come in for 2-3 hours instead of all day. Not every day, but every other day at first.
In fact, it’s essential to keep time for yourself.
So, it’s hard to take distance, especially when we love people.
But, the point here is to understand that you’re a crutch for their grief and anger and when someone isn’t well, they need themselves more than they need you. In other words, they need time alone with themselves, away from distractions, so they can start a dialogue with themselves.
Start gently, calmly. Don’t harbor guilt, and don’t blame the other person in anger either.
In fact, listen to yourself and your needs with kindness and compassion.
5 – Live life to the full
How do you go on living your life when others are going badly? It’s a question we all ask ourselves at some point in our lives.
Because hard times happen every day, to everyone, and sometimes they happen to the people we love most in the world.
So what do we do in those moments when the people we love sink into negativity and don’t seem to want to get out, infecting us with their negativity along the way?
Remember that your life is your gift. Every day, you receive 24 hours as a gift. They belong to you.
And there’s nothing selfish about using them for your own happiness.
So, of course, your happiness is linked to the happiness of others, especially those you love. But what do you do when those people don’t even want to hear the word happiness any more, and you’re thirsty for happiness, and can’t stand standing there taking all the negativity from others?
Make time for yourself, just for you, to live your life to the full.
Continue to follow your dreams and make them come true.
Remember: it’s your life, your gift.
What’s more, it’s the best way for you to show them that happiness is possible, that life goes on.
Set them an example. Contaminate them with your hopes and joy, instead of letting them contaminate you with their negative energies.
