Social relationships are essential to our well-being and happiness. The problem is, it’s not always easy to reach out to others and win them over. So how do you go about getting others to like you? Where do you start? Here are 4 powerful tips to help you build good relationships with others.

1 – Work on your self-esteem

In fact, to be appreciated by others quickly, it’s important to appreciate yourself first. Now, that’s not to say that we should worship ourselves, either (laughs).

But not constantly putting yourself down is a pretty good place to start.

That’s why I’m inviting you to take some time out to work on your self-talk and make it more positive. In fact, remove all criticism from yourself and be more kind to yourself.

In this way, you’ll boost your self-esteem, which will help you to vibrate with a more beautiful energy that will attract others and make you more appreciated by them.

2 – Be positive to endear yourself to others

There’s nothing worse than being around someone who’s constantly negative, someone who grumbles all the time, who gets upset over nothing or who gets depressed over everything.

That’s why it’s important to be positive if you want to be liked by others. So there’s no need to go overboard and turn into a Care Bear. (laughs)

In fact, the most important thing is to make sure you don’t fall into automatic negativity.

So, before you go out to meet people, make a mental list of 2 or 3 positive things to say, about life in general or current events, for example.

And remember to smile. Yes, it sounds logical, but all too often, when we want to be appreciated, we tend to be in control and so we forget to smile.

And yet, your smile is what will help you most to be appreciated by others.

3 – Be authentic and develop your own opinions and tastes

Getting other people to like you can lead you to adopt certain ideas or tastes in order to be and do like everyone else.

But most people don’t want to enter into relationships with carbon copies of themselves, they want to be open to other ideas and tastes.

That’s why it’s much more interesting to be authentic.

So, maybe someone won’t like you at all, but in any case, others will really like you.

In fact, understand that as long as you do what others do, others will like you just a little, just enough.

But if you want real, strong, authentic relationships, then be authentic.

To do that, take some time to get to know yourself. Explore your opinions and tastes. Have fun!

4 – Take the time to invest fully in relationships

When we want others to love us, we don’t always realize that it’s going to take time.

In fact, we can’t create relationships, let alone maintain them, if we don’t invest ourselves fully.

So investing time is important, but not only that. There’s also an emotional investment to be made.

That’s why, if you’re in the business of getting other people to like you, understand that you’re not there to receive everything, and that you’re going to have to give.

In fact, expect to have to give even before you receive.

In fact, to be loved by others is not to take everything without giving anything. In fact, the opposite is true. It’s about giving freely and leaving others free to decide whether or not to give in return.

So I’m not saying give everything to everyone. I’m not saying that at all.

Getting others to love you isn’t about getting everyone to love you. It’s about the right people. Can you see the difference? It’s essential to your well-being and happiness.

5 – Listening to others to make yourself loved

Just as you like to be listened to and understood, so do others.

That’s why, to make yourself loved by others, it’s important to listen to others and show empathy and gratitude too.

That is, hear their feelings and emotions. Let others express themselves. This doesn’t mean adopting a savior posture either. After all, you’re not there to save others.

Listening means creating a space in which the other person feels heard and welcomed. The other person is not looking for solutions to his or her problems, but first and foremost for an attentive and benevolent ear.

And gratitude means knowing how to thank others when they listen to us, when they take time for us, to see us. Knowing how to thank others is essential to being loved.
