Feeling Stuck In Your Life: 6 Practical Tips To Get Out Of It

Feeling stuck in life happens to everyone, every day. In fact, it means we’re at a crossroads in our lives. On the one hand, there’s the known that bores us, from which we have nothing more to learn, and on the other, there’s the unknown, and that can be frightening. So, how can you unblock your life with confidence and serenity? Here are 6 practical tips to help you get started.
1 – Feeling stuck in your life: taking stock
In fact, we have two choices: we can either view feeling stuck in life negatively, or we can view it positively.
Either we see it as an end, or as a beginning, a renewal.
The choice is yours.
Personally, I see it as a renewal. In fact, it’s perfectly normal to feel stuck in your life. It happens to me, even though I love my life!
In fact, when I feel stuck, I see it as a signal that I’ve come full circle and need to move on to something else.
It can also be a signal that I’ve forgotten to take care of my joie de vivre, or that my current goal no longer suits me…
That’s why it’s so important to take stock and look at the present with a curious eye.
What’s happened lately? Positive and less positive.
What do I like about my daily life, and what don’t I like so much?
Where is my joy at the moment? Am I cultivating it enough? And how?
In order to get your life moving, it’s essential to take stock and become aware of your feelings and needs.
2 – Let go of the past and dream of the future
The problem is that feeling stuck in our lives invites us to look to the past for reasons of why and how.
Yet the aim is not necessarily to understand and identify the causes, but rather to move forward and move towards change.
Indeed, we waste far too much time and energy analyzing instead of acting!
That’s why I wholeheartedly invite you to stop dwelling on the past and start dreaming about the future.
To do this, I invite you to answer this question: do you want to stay stuck in your life or do you want to unblock your life?
If you want to unblock your life, then let go of the past and think about the future.
Dream it!
To do so, answer these questions: “If I lived in an ideal world, what would my life be like? What would you do? Who would you be with? With whom? Why? What would your job be? Your passions? Your habits? What would you do to feel happy?
For me, feeling stuck in your life is the perfect time to take charge!
It’s a signal from your heart to change things.
3 – Develop your self-confidence
The problem is that we tend to have a hard time coping with feeling stuck in life.
In fact, we tend to believe that we’ve wasted our time, that we haven’t made the right choices, and little by little, we lose our self-confidence.
But you’re going to need your self-confidence to unblock your life. Because self-confidence is the ability to believe you’re up to the task, to say to yourself: “Okay, this scares me, but I’m going to do it anyway.”
In fact, self-confidence is what gets you into action.
But how do you regain it?
I wholeheartedly invite you to seek support. Accompanied by texts that make you feel good, but also by people, trainers, coaches…
People who will remind you that you’re up to the task, that you can trust yourself.
People who will also tell you that if I’ve done it, if I’ve managed to unblock my life, you can do it too.
So don’t be alone in developing your self-confidence.
4 – Have a goal and take action to stop feeling stuck in your life
To stop feeling stuck in your life, there’s nothing more powerful than having a goal.
A goal that pushes you forward.
It can be as simple as doing 20 squats a day for 30 days, or reading for 15 minutes every day for 30 days.
Actually, do something!
Take action!
That’s the secret to unlocking your life. Be in motion.
Indeed, remember that, “Your life doesn’t get better by chance, but by change.”
In other words, if you feel stuck in your life, change something. Do something.
5 – Rediscover the joy of living
It’s quite possible that you’ve lost your joie de vivre along the way. It happens to everyone, every day.
Our lives are fast-paced and filled with stress. In fact, we haven’t learned to take care of our joie de vivre; instead, we’ve learned to stay focused on the hassles of everyday life.
This is one of the first things I do when I feel stuck in my life. I say to myself: “Before I change everything, I’m going to look at my joy. Have I been taking care of it lately? How can I put more of it out there, right now?”
Because feeling joy is essential to living a happy life.
That’s why I wholeheartedly invite you to rediscover the joy of living.
To do so, you need to commit to taking some time every day (15 minutes is enough) to do something that makes you smile. It could be a sporting, artistic or cultural activity.
Follow your joy!
What do you love? What are you passionate about?
If you’re having trouble, ask yourself: what did I like to do as a child?
6 – Adopt good habits to stop feeling stuck in your life
I’ll say it again: feeling stuck in your life isn’t bad news. On the contrary, it’s a sign that you need to renew yourself. It’s an adventure that’s opening up.
And let’s not forget that life itself is an adventure.
We need to continually learn, grow and evolve. This is our mission on Earth.
Unfortunately, we’ve been led to believe that we’re here to fit neatly into boxes until the end.
That’s why when we feel cramped into our boxes, we panic a little. But it’s simply that we need to move on. It’s only human. That’s just the way life is.
In other words, get into the habit of regularly taking stock of your life (at least once a month).
Personally, I do this every Sunday evening. I list everything I’ve done during the week, review my feelings and then look ahead to the week ahead: what do I want to do more of? Anything less? Is there something blocking me? How can I be more joyful and serene?
Then, every day, I read books that make me feel good, that make me think, that soothe me, that boost my self-confidence.
I always have one or more goals in mind.
In fact, I’m in action thanks to my habits.
That’s why I wholeheartedly invite you to make all those practical tips I’ve just told you about, habits that are firmly anchored in your life.
