Finding our place means being convinced that we’re here for a reason, that we have things to express in this world and, above all, that we have a life to live to the full. There’s nothing selfish or egocentric about that. Quite the contrary, in fact. That’s why I’m sharing 10 tips to help you find your place.

1 – Be convinced to find your place

To find one’s place, it’s essential to be convinced of one’s place in the world.

And that’s no easy task in a society that urges us not to stand out, to like what everyone else likes, and to conform to everyone else.

But if you’re reading this article, it’s because you too believe that there’s more to life than that. That you’re here to live life to the full, and to do that, you need to find your place.

That’s why I wholeheartedly invite you to repeat to yourself: “I’m convinced that I have a place in this world. I’m going to find it and live my life to the full.”

2 – Be determined

Being determined to find your place is essential! In fact, finding your place will require you to dare to do things and to step out of line.

And this first step will require a great deal of courage and determination.

That’s why I invite you to repeat to yourself: “I’m determined to find my place in this world and live my life to the full.”

3 – Be persistent

Finding one’s place will not be easy, as we are not really invited to do so in this society.

So the path won’t necessarily be easy. Sometimes it will be hidden, sometimes difficult to access.

What’s more, you may lack conviction and determination. That’s why, at times like these, you’ll have to rely on your perseverance.

To that end, I invite you to repeat to yourself: “I choose to persevere in order to find my place. Because, what else do I have better to do than follow the path that pushes me to live my life to the fullest?”

Yes, what better thing can we do than to find our place and seek to live our lives to the full?

So let’s persevere!

4 – Don’t be afraid of other people’s gaze to find your place

Finding your place requires you to shine brightly. We’re going to follow our joy, and it makes us shine from the inside out.

But it scares us.

We wonder: “What will other people think? Maybe I’m trying too hard? Too ambitious? Too me?”

So, to find your place, it’s essential to detach yourself from the gaze of others.

In fact, you’re not responsible for what others think of you.

You’re only responsible for the happiness and joy you feel day after day. They’re your treasures, and it’s up to you to take care of them.

That’s why don’t let the fear of dazzling others, the fear of being criticized, push you to let down the most precious thing you have on Earth: yourself!

Remember: if you’re reading this, it’s because you’re convinced that you have a place on Earth, that you have a life to live to the full. So let that belief guide you in everything you do, think and say.

Focus on yourself and not on others. You’re not responsible for them. If they criticize you, let them. And if they want advice or help in finding their place, help them and set an example.

After all, we’re all here for the same thing: to find our place and live life to the full, in our own way and at our own pace.

So there’s no competition between us. In fact, we’re here to cooperate.

5 – Don’t be afraid of failure

Finding your place means embarking on your heart’s projects.

But there’s a fear that society has created: the fear of failure. Indeed, when we fail, it’s frowned upon and calls into question our self-worth, so we’re often invited to give up. We’ll hear, “If it didn’t work out, it’s because you’re not cut out for it.”

What if you needed to persevere instead, needed to simply learn some things?

What if you’d asked too much of yourself, set too many expectations?

In fact, finding your place will require you to confront failure again and again, because it’s part of life. Failure helps us to bounce back, to go deeper. Sometimes, it helps us to find another way and even another path.

Accept that failure is always part of your path, and that’s how you’ll live life to the full.

6 – Don’t be afraid to succeed to find your place

Just as we’re afraid of failure, we’re also afraid of success. Which is strange (laughs).

In fact, sometimes we’re afraid that things will work out, that our projects will come to fruition, because we’re afraid of change and sometimes even of happiness.

In fact, sometimes we’re afraid of falling from grace. That’s why we’re urged on a daily basis not to expect too much, not to want too much.

Because if we succeed, we can fall.

If we succeed, we’ll make people jealous.

And, if we succeed, we may become pretentious and lose ourselves in it.

What if we were to realize that we’re self-sabotaging?

Why are we afraid to succeed? How can we be when we’re convinced that we have a place in the world and a life to live to the full?

That’s why, if you’re afraid of succeeding, go back to your original belief. Reconnect with it and let it resonate until it frees you from the fear of succeeding.

7- Don’t be afraid of disappointment

Finding your place means not being afraid of disappointment. After all, we don’t always get what we want, or not in the form we’d like.

And that’s what holds us back. Because it’s hard to overcome disappointment. Our morale takes a hit and our self-worth plummets.

That’s why it’s so hard to find our place in the world. Because we stop ourselves hoping and dreaming when we’re afraid of being disappointed.

In fact, we settle for what we’ve got and convince ourselves that we’re fully satisfied.

But we’re not fooled. In fact, if you’re reading this article, it’s because you’re not. You know that you’re on Earth to live your life to the full, to experiment, to go further, higher. Without pretension. Just out of joy, play, curiosity, love for yourself and for life itself.

Accept that disappointment is part of your path.

8 – Let yourself be surprised to live life to the full

We’ve learned to want to control everything, to want things to go exactly like this rather than like that.

Yet in this life, we have to team up with Life itself. Indeed, she always comes along to throw in her two cents, especially at times when we’ve forgotten about her, because she likes to surprise us (laughs).

Sometimes it’s nice, sometimes it’s not.

So, to find one’s place, it’s essential to accept life’s surprises. To have plans, to take small steps with determination and perseverance, while accepting to be surprised.

In fact, I wholeheartedly invite you to say to yourself every morning when you wake up: “What surprises is Life going to bring me today? What will it come to teach me?”

Take a curious look at Life, because it doesn’t want to hurt you, it wants to teach you the important things in life so that you can live it to the full.

9 – Start somewhere to find your place

To find your place, it’s essential to take action! It’s not a question of knowing where you belong, but of finding it. In other words, you have to start somewhere.

That’s why I wholeheartedly invite you to close your eyes and ask yourself: “What project is close to my heart right now? What makes me happy? What first step could I take today?”

In fact, to find your place, it’s essential to follow your joy and take small steps.

10 – Start small to live life to the full

Finding your place doesn’t have to mean having a big job or leading a life overflowing with important activities.

Finding your place means finding what’s important to you, finding your joy and nourishing it every day. No more, no less.

So close your eyes and don’t put pressure on yourself.

In fact, you’re not here to prove anything, you’re here simply to live your life to the full, and that’s your joy, your best guide.

That’s why I wholeheartedly invite you to embark on small projects at first. Little everyday things you’d like to do, because they bring you joy.

Because it’s often in the simple things that we find our joy.
