Making A Living From Your Passion: 7 Tips For Following Your Heart

Making a living from your passion is a dream, but it’s also a scary one. Indeed, it’s about allowing yourself to follow your heart, but many fears and beliefs prevent us from doing so: do I deserve it, will I put myself in financial danger, what will others think… That’s why I’d like to share with you 7 tips to help you make a living from your passion.
1 – Making a living from your passion: allowing yourself to be yourself
Making a living from your passion means allowing yourself to be yourself, and that’s not always easy. In fact, being yourself means daring to show yourself: to show your light, but also your dark side. It means showing your talents and strengths, but also your weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
What’s more, we are all too rarely invited to be ourselves in a society that invites us a little more each day to conform to one another. Which invites us to like what everyone else likes.
And, ever since school, we’ve been encouraged to make generic choices and never to step out of the mold, out of our own well-defined box.
In fact, being yourself is disturbing, but being yourself is vital! For yourself, but also for others and for the world.
Indeed, we need what makes each person unique, because it’s our differences that nourish each other.
So, to live from your passion is to follow a new belief: that of allowing yourself to be yourself. In other words, whenever you’re afraid to show yourself, to expose your vulnerability, breathe and remember that this is what the world expects of you, and it’s the only way you’ll ever feel fully alive on Earth.
2 – Allow yourself to find your light and embody it
Living your passion means finding your light, in other words, finding what makes you tick.
And it’s not easy, because we don’t allow ourselves to. We’ve learned to stifle what makes us tick, because we’ve been taught that: “Life is serious” “Life is hard”.
In other words, we stifle our daily joie de vivre, because we’ve been led to believe that we’re not here to enjoy ourselves at work or in our everyday lives. We’ve been told: “You’ll be glad you have a job. Don’t ask for too much.”
What if we thought differently? What if we allowed ourselves to live differently and follow our joie de vivre wherever it leads us?
Because that’s what living your passion is all about. It’s about following our joy to find our light. It’s about discovering what makes us tick and allowing ourselves to do what makes us tick.
In fact, it’s about allowing ourselves the joy of living in all areas of our lives!
3 – Making a living from your passion: allowing yourself to take action, even if you lack self-confidence
We’ve been led to believe that a lack of self-confidence isn’t normal. There’s something wrong with you.
In fact, we’ve been led to believe that to get started, we must first have self-confidence.
That’s why, when we’re afraid, when we don’t really feel up to it, we stop everything! We let our fear and our doubts impress us, we let them control our lives.
What if it were normal to lack self-confidence, to feel afraid and doubtful?
After all, how can we feel totally up to the task when we’re about to do something for the first time? It just doesn’t make sense.
So remember, to make a living from your passion, it’s essential to take action even when you’re afraid, even when you lack self-confidence.
Take small, imperfect actions that lead you to what makes you vibrate with joy, that lead you to your light.
4 – Allow yourself to discover what makes you tick and take action, despite the fear of judgment.
Other people often imprison us with their judgments, when often they haven’t even thought of anything yet, because we haven’t done anything yet (laughs).
Indeed, we tend to attribute less than benevolent intentions to the people around us. Why do we do this? Because we project our own inner judge onto others.
Because we speak badly to ourselves, we think that everyone else speaks badly of us. But that’s not true at all.
There’s no worse judge of ourselves than ourselves.
What if we stopped projecting our own judgments onto others? What if we learned to talk to ourselves better?
That’s why, if we want to make a living from our passion, it’s essential to stop focusing on what others might say about us, and allow ourselves to finally do what makes us happy.
Instead of living for and in relation to others, live for yourself! Live for your joy!
5 – Allow yourself to believe in yourself, because we all deserve to be who we are and to do what makes us happy.
When we want to make a living from our passion, there’s always a moment when we ask ourselves: “But who am I to make a living from my passion? Who am I to deserve this?”
Who are we to deserve to make a living from our passion? We’re human beings, nothing more, nothing less.
Why should we deserve to do what makes us tick?
We deserve it! Being alive is a miracle, it’s magic! So, do we really believe that we’re here to do anything other than embody our light?
6 – Make a living from your passion: allow yourself to learn, experiment, try and reinvent yourself
All too often, the fear of failure prevents us from making a living from our passion. Indeed, we are tempted to believe that if we fail in our project, it’s because we weren’t cut out for it.
Worse still, sometimes we don’t even try, because the fear of failure paralyzes us: “What if I lose everything?
What if we allowed ourselves to learn, experiment and try? What if we understood that we’re not here to cling to an illusory sense of security, but to follow our joy wherever it leads?
What if, moreover, we allowed ourselves to reinvent ourselves, realizing that we’re not here to lock ourselves into the known and into boxes that don’t define us?
In other words, making a living from your passion means allowing yourself to evolve, day by day.
7 – Making a living from your passion: allowing yourself to expose your vulnerability, fears and wounds
When we decide to live our passion and fully embody our light, we inevitably expose our vulnerability to the world.
In other words, we offer the world our light, and it’s quite intimate, since we share our deepest beliefs!
This requires us to accept to show and expose ourselves.
That said, when you think about it, it’s society that has made us believe that we have to hide, because the world is a dangerous place.
But don’t we have immense strength within us? Haven’t we already been through a lot in our lives?
So, we have a choice to make: continue to vibrate with fear and hide, or allow ourselves to shine brightly and expose our light and vulnerability?
Have you ever noticed how beautiful human beings are, so beautiful when they talk about what makes them tick, when they do what makes them tick?
So give us this gift, give us your light. Allow yourself to feel vulnerable, because you have nothing to prove, nothing to protect, you just have to offer.
