Personal Fulfillment: 6 Simple Questions To Ask Yourself

Personal fulfillment means being able to say to yourself: I am the person I want to be. I feel I’m in the right place, doing things I enjoy. In fact, it’s feeling at peace, and above all, it’s knowing how to lead a life that pleases us, that reflects who we are. But how do we build our personal fulfillment? Here are 6 questions to ask yourself.
1 – Personal fulfillment means knowing what your simple, everyday joys are.
To feel fulfilled in your life, it’s essential to know exactly what makes you happy.
And I’m not talking about our last vacation or our latest big purchase.
I’m talking about the simple, everyday joys: like the last time you enjoyed a good cup of coffee, the last time you watched a good movie with your family, or the last time you took the time to read a book you loved.
Because, all too often, we run after happiness. We tell ourselves we still have to wait for vacations, more money, more friends, a partner, children, a new car…
Without realizing that we’re making ourselves unhappy, because all we’re doing is putting off our happiness until later.
So, personal fulfillment asks you to answer this question: what are your simple, everyday joys?
If you can’t answer this question, that’s normal. It means that you’ve been living your life on autopilot for a while, and that you’ve been putting off your happiness until later. And it happens to everyone, every day.
So take a breath.
And take the time, over a week for example, to live your daily life more consciously, more gently. Discover those simple moments of joy.
2 – What are your passions?
You can’t live a fulfilling life if you don’t know what your passions are.
Nowadays, the word “passion” puts a little too much pressure on you.
But a passion is just something you do and love to do.
In other words, it’s not meant to become a profession or make you a celebrity.
In fact, a passion is something rather intimate, something you don’t always want to share with certain people, and that’s normal.
In fact, the purpose of a passion is to make you lose track of time, i.e. you forget for a moment who you are, your roles in society. You forget everything.
It’s like an enchanted interlude in your daily life, filled with obligations.
The problem is that having passions is often described as something rather selfish.
In fact, while you’re indulging your passion, you’re not doing anything useful or effective, and you’re not doing anything for others.
So it’s considered rather childish and pointless.
But that’s not true at all.
Having passions is vital, it’s necessary.
That’s why, to develop your personal fulfillment, you need to cultivate your passions.
What do you like to do? If you don’t know, ask yourself what you liked to do as a child.
Have fun trying out new things to find out what you’re passionate about.
In fact, give yourself permission for a few moments, on a regular basis, to become a child again.
3 – Self-fulfilment means knowing what your goals are and why.
To be totally fulfilled in our lives, we need to know the direction we’re heading in.
In fact, we don’t so much need to arrive as to have a direction. The right direction.
But what is the right direction?
It’s the one dictated by our heart.
Because, all too often, we set goals just to be like everyone else, or because those around us told us it was right for us.
But goals that lead you in the right direction, in the direction of a life that you really enjoy and that truly reflects you, are goals that really mean something to you, that really speak to you.
This will require you to dare to be yourself and to dare to listen to yourself.
What do you want? Where do you want to go? Why do you want to go?
These are the questions that will help you develop your personal fulfillment.
4 – How do you manage your time?
So, how do you find the time to savor the simple joys of everyday life, to discover and indulge your passions, and to set the right goals and strive to achieve them?
Where do you find this time?
You have it. Like everyone else, you have 24 hours every day. 24 hours that are offered to you, but that will be taken away from you one day.
24 hours whose sole purpose is to do your best to blossom and be happy.
So, what do you do with your time? How do you manage your time?
Here are two essential questions you need to answer honestly.
Because, all too often, we believe that we don’t have the time to do the things that are important to us, the things that could help us develop our personal fulfillment.
But we do have time, it’s just that we don’t use it in the right way.
Look at how much time you spend in front of screens, watching social networks or TV shows.
You’ve got time! It’s just that you need to manage it better, more consciously and, above all, with the aim of living a life you really enjoy, a life you can be proud of.
5 – Personal fulfillment is knowing whether you’re at peace or not
Being fulfilled also means being able to say that we are at peace. That we are at peace with our past and our present. That we are at peace with the people around us, but also with ourselves.
Indeed, all too often, the quest for personal fulfillment leads us to take a critical look at our past, our present, our surroundings and ourselves.
We focus on mistakes, things that go wrong and missed opportunities.
But self-fulfilment is only possible with acceptance, gentleness and joy.
So don’t look for someone to blame, and don’t feel guilty either.
In fact, look kindly on your past, your present, those around you and yourself.
Take a breath.
You’re not here to judge yourself, life or others.
That’s why just do your best from now on and you’ll see everything change. Give yourself time.
Because remember, we build a beautiful life on beautiful thoughts. So nurture beautiful thoughts.
6 – Are you brave?
Because self-fulfilment isn’t easy. It requires change, effort and sometimes even sacrifice. It also takes a lot of time.
But it’s worth it!
Because if you want to live a life you really enjoy, a life you’re proud of, then you’ve got to have courage and perseverance.
Do what you have to do, because you know what you have to do. It’s just that you’re afraid or lazy to do it.
But if you don’t change anything, nothing will change.
What’s more, personal fulfillment isn’t something you feel at the finish line, it’s something you feel along the way.
In fact, you can already feel the benefits if you start changing what you need to change.
That’s why start somewhere. Start small. You can do it and you deserve it.
