Taking Risks: The 4 Secrets To A Happy Life

To be happy in life, it’s essential to take risks. After all, happiness is unique to each individual. In other words, we all need to have the courage to live our own lives, in our own way. The problem is that we live in society, and it’s very difficult for us to assert ourselves and take responsibility for our choices. In fact, we believe that making our own choices represents too great a risk. That of being rejected. So what do we do? Here are the 4 secrets to daring to take risks.
1 – Take a different path from everyone else
We’ve been brought up to take the same path as everyone else. The problem is, we don’t realize that what makes others happy doesn’t necessarily make us happy. And the reverse is also true.
In fact, we’d like to make different life choices, but we don’t dare.
Why don’t we? Because we’re afraid of being rejected, and afraid of losing people along the way.
So what do we do? Take risks!
Yes, we have to take the risk of making life choices that are different from others, and therefore take the risk of being rejected by certain people and losing them along the way.
Because if we don’t take that risk, we condemn ourselves to not living a happy life, a life we really enjoy.
In fact, rather than taking the risk of disappointing a few people, we take the risk of disappointing ourselves.
It’s interesting to realize that one of the greatest regrets of people at the end of their lives is that they didn’t dare to live their lives their way.
In other words, don’t make that mistake. Take the risk of making your own way in life. Right here, right now.
2 – Stop trying to be like everyone else
In our society, there are also norms about who we should be. In other words, we are “invited” to develop certain qualities rather than others, and certain strengths rather than others.
For example, in our society, introverts don’t get much press. Hypersensitive people are seen as UFOs (laughs).
That’s why when you’re introverted and/or hypersensitive, it’s very complicated and you try at all costs to be like everyone else.
So we hide, we camouflage ourselves. And we force ourselves to be something we’re not.
In fact, we don’t want to take any risks. The risk of being who we are.
But, as we can see, this suffocates and exhausts us a little more every day.
So why not be who we are?
Why don’t we start by accepting ourselves, instead of trying so hard to be accepted by others?
I think there’s a place for everyone and that we don’t have to try to be like everyone else, but who we are.
Because this echoes the regret of people at the end of life, that of not having known how to live their own way. In this case, we’ll regret not having been ourselves.
In other words, it’s high time we took risks in this life and dared to be ourselves!
3 – Dare to break out of your routine and take risks
How about talking about our routine? The one that pushes us to do what everyone else does, at the same time.
Indeed, the gaze of others weighs heavily on us, even when we’re safe at home. That’s why we’re driven to have the same passions, the same interests, the same vacations…
What if we dared to step out of our routine and take risks?
The risk of making new life choices in our daily lives.
In fact, what if we dared to make sure that what we do on a daily basis really suits us? If only in the way we eat, get up and go to bed. The way we dress, the way we entertain ourselves.
Not to judge ourselves or what others do.
Simply to be more us in our own lives. To dare to take risks and maybe change some things, or even try new things.
Because life isn’t set in stone – quite the contrary. Life is change.
So dare to take risks. Always dare to take a curious look at what makes up your life and who you are.
To that end, I wholeheartedly invite you to ask yourself this question every day, with curiosity: “And if I lived in an ideal world, what would I do differently?”
Ask yourself this question in all areas of your life: professional, personal, family, social…
4 – Take risks and don’t expect support
Taking risks means stopping expecting support from others, even those closest to you.
Taking risks means daring to take the risk of losing people along the way.
That’s the way it is.
But the problem is, we’ve learned to be afraid of losing people. We’ve learned to conform to each other.
That’s why today we’re not really happy in our lives. Because we prefer to meet other people’s expectations rather than our own.
And that’s normal. We all make this mistake.
Now it’s up to you to stop making it.
Stop expecting support from others and dare to listen to yourself.
Stop living for others and live for yourself.
In fact, stop listening to your fears and follow your heart!

Risky Is the New Safe: The Rules Have Changed by Randy Gage
In Risky Is the New Safe, Randy Gage challenges conventional wisdom about risk and safety, encouraging readers to embrace uncertainty and take bold risks in a rapidly changing world. Mr. Gage explains how it can be riskier to play it safe than to take calculated risks, and proposes a paradigm shift that allows individuals to navigate and thrive in uncertainty. This book serves as a guide for those seeking to break out of comfort zones, redefine success and capitalize on the opportunities that come with taking risks.
This book does not disappoint. True to form, it gives us plenty to think about and wonder what the future might look like. It challenges long-held paradigms and challenges us to really think things through.
