Being On The Right Track: 4 Questions To Ask Yourself To Be Sure

How do we know if we’re on the right track? How can we be sure we’ve made the right choices and are on the right track? Because the fear of taking the wrong path can paralyze us. How about asking yourself these 4 questions to make sure you’re on the right path.
1 – Be on the right track: Do I want to get up in the morning?
If the answer is no, it’s a sure sign.
Fatigue is a mental creation.Yes, we create a state of fatigue whenever we’re bored. It’s a signal that it’s time to change something in our way of life.
To do that, you need to find a good reason in the morning. It doesn’t have to be something big that brings money or success. Yes, it can be as small as playing guitar, coloring, gardening…
Find that little thing that makes you smile again.
Being on the right track, being where you belong in life, doesn’t have to mean having a dream job, a big business, a big house… No! We’re here on Earth to be happy, and that starts with doing the little things that make us smile.
In fact, we’re not mistaken when, in our daily lives, we make room for the joy of living.
How can we make sure we’re on the right track? By making sure we want to get up in the morning.
2 – Am I in a good mood?
First of all, I’d like us all to agree on what it means to be in a bad mood. (laughs)
We’re clearly in a bad mood when :
we grumble
nothing makes us angry
our face is marbled: no smile, frowning eyebrows…
we don’t enjoy anything
When we’re in a bad mood, it’s often a sign that nothing touches us anymore, that nothing fills us with wonder. We’re locked in negative feelings, emotions and thoughts.
That’s why, when your daily life gives you a bad mood, it’s because it no longer suits you, because you’re no longer in the right place. So it’s time for you to make some changes, to get moving.
Either physically or mentally. Often, we don’t need to leave everything behind, we just need to change the way we see things to get better.
How can we make sure we’re on the right track? By taking care of our mood. Follow what makes you happy, follow what makes you smile. And stay away from things that stress you or make you angry.
I invite you to ask yourself this question every night:
What did I like today, and what didn’t I like? How can I do more of what I liked and less of what I didn’t like?
Your path, the one you like and that suits you, is built up as you go along. It’s not going to fall into your lap overnight. No. It’s all the little things you do on a daily basis that will gradually pave your way.
3 – Being on the right path: Do I know why I’m doing what I’m doing?
Knowing why we do things is essential, because it’s what gives meaning to our lives.
If we don’t know why we’re doing it, then why do it?
Indeed, to be happy, we need to have a sense of progress and improvement. We need to have goals.
Goals are not necessarily synonymous with performance or success. Our goal may well be our happiness.
Ultimately, “I’m doing this because it makes me happy”: that should be our only response to everything we do on a daily basis.
That’s why I invite you to make a list of what you’ve done this week. Then, for each activity, ask yourself why you did it? What were your expectations and objectives?
Look closely at the activities you didn’t like doing, but thought you should. Can you review your expectations and objectives for these activities? Can you see in what you didn’t like a good reason for doing it?
Let’s say taking your kids to school in the morning was a particularly stressful experience. And eventually, it becomes a real pain in the neck on a daily basis. Try to rethink the way you experience this activity. If you had to do it by saying to yourself: “I’m doing it because it’s important for my children to go to school, and I’m happy to be able to give them this chance. Or “I’m happy to spend some time with them on the way”, everything would be different.
How can we make sure we’re on the right track? By making sure we’re doing things because it makes us happy to do them.
If this isn’t the case, we can either change our perception or find solutions to stop doing the activity.
4 – Do I listen to my heart?
I could also have written: do I follow my smile?
Because we know we’re not doing anything wrong when we smile. When we have our little inner voice singing “I love everything I do.”
Yet today, loving what we do isn’t always what we’re looking for. That’s why so many of us wake up years later saying, “I don’t like my life!”
Indeed, today we tend to forget to love what we do, because :
We want to be perfect and do things perfectly
We strive for performance and success
Or we do what others do because we dare not do otherwise.
In fact, we too often forget to listen to our heart. We don’t know how to listen to our feelings and needs.
Listening to and following our heart is the surest way to happiness, because it intuitively knows what makes us feel good.
Our mission is to be happy, and our heart is our best ally.
What if we got into the habit, every day, of asking our heart, “What do you need today to feel good about being on the right path?”
