How Can You Stop Wanting More And Getting Frustrated? My 5 Tips

It’s hard to be satisfied with what you’ve got. In fact, knowing how to be content with what we have is all too often synonymous with failure. The problem is, we don’t realize that always expecting more makes us frustrated, bitter, and therefore not really happy in life. So what can you do about it? Here are my 5 tips to help you stop wanting more and be happier in life.
1 – Stop wanting more when it comes to love
I think many of us watch too many movies and TV shows and have unrealistic expectations when it comes to love. These expectations frustrate us, and even worse, they prevent us from seeing that we’re already very lucky.
It’s important to understand that always wanting more in love is the best way to ruin your relationship. Because we grumble, make remarks and even harbor resentment towards the person we love.
So how do you stop wanting more? Start by focusing on what’s already going well. In fact, take a more positive and grateful look at your current relationship. Then, let go of your expectations, stop wanting the person to be more like this or less like that. To do this, start by stopping comparing your relationship with what you see in films and TV shows.
Now, this doesn’t mean accepting the unacceptable or settling for the bare minimum. But it does mean stopping being grateful and always being frustrated. What do you think?
2 – Free yourself from frustration at work
I’ve noticed that we’re talking more and more about our dream jobs. In fact, it’s all about combining passion and dream work, working as few hours as possible while earning the highest possible salary. Open your eyes, it’s just people throwing smoke and mirrors in your face, it’s false advertising.
But if you really don’t like your job, there’s nothing to stop you wanting to change. On the contrary, go for it! Don’t stay where you feel unhappy. But be careful not to denigrate your current job because of false advertising.
So it’s important to understand that there’s no such thing as a perfect job, perfect colleagues or perfect customers. Indeed, in any job, there are difficulties, ups and downs. That’s why this article is all about taking a more positive and grateful look at your work.
In other words, calm down and take several slow, deep breaths. Stop panicking because you think your work isn’t perfect. It doesn’t have to be, it can’t be. In fact, the only question to ask yourself is: are there things you like about it? Focus on that. What do you think about it?
3 – Stop wanting more in friendship
Here again, movies and TV shows don’t really help us to have realistic expectations about our friendships. Let’s face it, movies and TV shows are there to inspire us. But, the problem is, it’s not inspiration we feel, but frustration and envy.
So, if you’re tired of being disappointed by your friendships, start by stopping wanting more. To do this, take some time to calmly and honestly take stock of the situation. In other words, ask yourself this question: “What if, instead of only seeing what’s wrong, I could see what’s right?
This question will help you relax and feel more satisfied with your relationships.
4 – Stop being financially frustrated
It’s normal to feel a little frustrated when we don’t earn a big salary. But are we doomed to be so frustrated that we completely ruin our lives? The answer is no.
Indeed, when we’re not well off financially, we have to accept it. But that doesn’t mean we can’t take action to earn more. But, in the meantime, we can feel a certain serenity and joy in our daily lives.
To achieve this, we need to stop wanting what we can’t have right now. In fact, we need to live consistently with what we earn each month. In fact, it’s because you harbor unrealistic desires that you suffer so much from your financial means. In other words, start by sorting out your desires and you’ll see that you’ll be able to feel greater inner peace.
5 – Stop wanting more for yourself
I’ve noticed that we’re always asking too much of ourselves. In other words, we tend to set ourselves far too ambitious goals and always want to be smarter and stronger than we are.
In fact, we have a lot of expectations of ourselves, and this prevents us from being happy in life. So what can we do about it?
On the one hand, we have to learn to rejoice in our progress. And, on the other, to offer ourselves more kindness. In fact, if we have so many expectations of ourselves, it’s because we tend to compare ourselves to people we think are better than ourselves, but also because we tend to depreciate ourselves severely.
But we are already beautiful people. In fact, take stock of yourself and your life in all honesty and humility: what have you achieved in your life? What have you learned? And what trials have you overcome over the years? Can’t you see how strong you already are? Can’t you see how strict you are with yourself?
It’s normal to have expectations of yourself, to constantly want to progress, to improve, but this shouldn’t be done in frustration, in pain, but in joy and self-love.
So ask yourself how you can continue to progress in your life, in your professional and personal goals, but from now on with joy and self-love. What do you think?

I recommend this inspiring book:
Voluntary Simplicity: Toward a Way of Life That Is Outwardly Simple, Inwardly Rich by Duane Elgin
Duane Elgin explores the concept of voluntary simplicity, advocating a life of thoughtful choice and intentional living. By embracing simplicity, individuals can put an end to their incessant quest for more, find contentment in less, and alleviate the frustrations associated with the constant desire to accumulate. This book explains how adopting a simpler lifestyle can lead to a richer, more fulfilling existence.
It’s a book everyone should read. the author doesn’t preach that everyone should live a life of voluntary simplicity. he simply gives the facts and other opinions and many reasons why any level of simplicity can benefit oneself, one’s family and the world. I’ve been trying to consciously practice a simpler lifestyle than ever before. this book has inspired me to take it to the next level. for me, it’s more about the peace of mind that comes from living simply.
I will gladly gift this book to anyone I love.
