Stop Asking Yourself Too Many Questions: 4 Tips For Taking A Breather

Sometimes we think too much, we ask ourselves too many questions. It stresses us out and puts us in a tailspin. We’d like to stop and calm down, but we don’t know how. In fact, our thoughts are too noisy and too overwhelming. So how can we stop asking ourselves too many questions? Here are 4 tips for taking a breather.
1 – Don’t go to war with your thoughts, soothe them instead
It’s important to understand that there’s no point in going to war against our own thoughts and anxieties, i.e. against ourselves.
The more we resist with all our might, the more we harm ourselves.
That’s why, when we ask ourselves too many questions, we shouldn’t try to stop thinking at all costs. We simply need to change our posture.
That is to say, instead of seeing all these questions that are churning inside us as enemies, as things we’re trying to eradicate at all costs, we can make the choice to calm down, to relax.
Because when we ask ourselves too many questions, we already have enough to deal with, without adding another task: that of silencing all our anxieties.
That’s why I invite you to change your posture: instead of fighting against it, learn to live with it, more calmly, more appeased.
In fact, it’s not so much your thoughts and anxieties that are hurting you, but rather your attitude towards them. It’s because you’re fighting them that you’re getting so tired.
2 – Don’t ask too many questions, just take stock
Asking too many questions means going off in all directions. It means looking for causes and consequences everywhere, all the time.
In concrete terms, it means trying to understand what’s happening to us by dissecting everything from A to Z, and trying to guess at all the repercussions it could have on the future.
It’s exhausting. But how do you calm the flood of questions?
In fact, if we ask ourselves so many questions, if we’re so anxious, it’s because we can’t really see clearly.
So fear takes over and sends us off in all directions, looking for clues to better understand and/or better prepare us for what’s about to happen.
The problem is, the more questions we ask ourselves, the less clear we become.
That’s why I wholeheartedly invite you to take stock.
Indeed, when you think too much, take a deep breath and take stock.
That is, ask yourself this question: “What’s really, really going on?”
What’s making you so anxious? What are you wondering about? What’s the starting point for all your racing thoughts?
In other words, put your finger on what’s making you ask so many questions.
Because until you really know what’s bothering you so much, what’s making you so anxious, you won’t be able to stop the flood of questions.
3 – Stop overthinking to feel and anchor yourself
To stop asking ourselves too many questions is to realize that when we give too much attention to our thoughts of all kinds, we forget to live.
In fact, we don’t always realize how much time and energy we’re wasting on stress and anxiety.
Of course, we can’t help it. Our thoughts and anxieties just fall into our laps. And, by the way, our aim is not to control all that, but to live in peace with it.
The problem is that we forget one essential thing when we pay so much attention to our thoughts, to these questions we ask ourselves: in the meantime, our life is passing us by.
Personally, I ask myself too many questions, I’m a stressed and anxious person, but over time, I’ve learned to live more and more at peace with the little world that’s going on inside me.
And what helps me in those moments when I’m really asking myself a lot of questions, when my stress level is really high, is that I simply stop asking myself questions.
I’m fed up with it. I say to myself stop, I can’t go on like this. I’m sick of listening to these questions, I’m sick of stressing myself out so much.
So I take a breath and look around. I listen. I feel things.
In fact, I come back to the present moment, I anchor myself in the present moment. In other words, I give my full attention to what’s all around me instead of to my thoughts.
And it’s magical!
So, of course, when we ask ourselves questions, it’s important to take stock and understand why we’re stressing out in this way, because we need to understand in order to move forward, but for all that, sometimes we just need to say stop and just live and feel.
Feeling that you’re alive and that this life isn’t a burden, it’s a gift.
4 – Stop asking yourself too many questions about hospitality
If we ask ourselves so many questions, it’s because we’ve learned to want to control everything.
In fact, we’ve been led to believe that if we prepare well enough in life, then there won’t be any unpleasant surprises, if we have the right behaviors the right habits, then everything will be fine.
Wrong!
Because life always throws a wrench in the works. So there will always be surprises in our lives, some good, some not so good.
And if we ask ourselves so many questions, it’s because somewhere along the line, when something not so good happens to us, we believe we’re at fault, that we could have avoided it.
But in this life, we don’t have to foresee or control everything, we have above all to welcome it.
Remember: it’s your posture that makes you more zen, happier, happier in your life.
In other words, it’s the way you embrace life’s good and not-so-good surprises that will make you stress yourself to the point of sickness, or calm yourself enough to get through the moment as best you can.
Indeed, I think we should have learned to welcome the things that happen to us, rather than trying to control everything.
Fortunately, it’s never too late to learn.
That’s why I wholeheartedly invite you to repeat this phrase to yourself when you feel you’re asking yourself too many questions: “I don’t try to control what happens to me; I try to welcome it. I seek to welcome it.”
