We’re going to draw an important rule from this today in this new episode of Success Quotes. When you take action on a daily basis, don’t worry about the rest. Focus completely on your action, act completely.

There’s a time for action and a time for reflection. Normally, if you take action, it’s because you’ve thought through the steps involved in carrying out your project. You’ve deduced some simple steps, and then you act. The day you act on your action, never question your previous thinking. You’re moving forward, working with your head in the handlebars, with blinders on. This is not the time to fail, to be afraid of failing, to hesitate.

You need to hesitate, to reflect at certain moments when you readjust your strategy, when you re-evaluate your strategy. You have a strategy, steps you want to take to move forward with your project. When you take action, you don’t think about the next steps, especially not, because that could scare you away from the next step and prevent you from taking concrete action.

You don’t think about the future or the past, you’re completely focused on the present moment, on the action you’re taking right now, and you do everything you can to succeed in taking that action.

I’ll take my own example: I’m writing this article right now, and I’m not thinking at all about future actions. I’ll think about it later when I re-evaluate my strategy. But right now, when I’m writing my article, I’m totally into it and I’m only thinking about it. I’m completely focused. Later on, I’ll re-evaluate my strategy, asking myself whether it was good or bad, whether or not I should continue in that direction.

When you carry out an action, it’s not the time to question the overall strategy of your project. This is very important, because we often see people and entrepreneurs stop just as they’re about to take action. They’ve spent a long time thinking about their strategy, but it’s at the moment of taking action that they start to get scared. It’s not when you take action that you need to be afraid of failing.

You need to think about the future, how to limit the probability of failure, how to maximize your project’s chances of success.
