Dynamic meditation: how to practice it?
It’s probably not the first time you’ve read this, but there are five distinct phases to be scrupulously observed when practicing this type of meditation. Each stage has a specific duration. Choose a quiet place where you can move around and make noise without disturbing anyone, and without being disturbed by anyone in return.
STAGE 1: THE BREATHING TECHNIQUE
It’s a fact that breathing occupies an important place in the world of meditation and spirituality. However, dynamic meditation has its own technique.
While standing, breathe as quickly and deeply as possible.
There’s no need to adopt a certain rhythm, just do it in a haphazard way.
And with each breath, make a sudden movement of the whole body.
The aim of this exercise is to become aware of your breathing. So try not to fall into habit. This stage should last exactly ten minutes.
STAGE 2: RELEASE YOUR EMOTIONS
So the first ten minutes have been spent practicing this little breathing session. Now let’s move on to the next stage in dynamic meditation: you’ll spend the next ten minutes expressing your feelings.
Keep moving, and express your feelings spontaneously.
Do this without thinking or setting limits.
If you feel joy, laugh.
If you feel sad, cry.
And do the same for all your emotions.
Bear in mind that it’s very important not to remain amorphous during these ten minutes.
STAGE 3: JUMPING
Now jump, and each time your feet touch the ground, say the mantra “HOU”. During this stage of dynamic meditation, it’s not about making big jumps. Instead, you should have your legs slightly bent, your hands raised and fall back onto the flat of your feet. This will stimulate all your body’s energy sources. This phase also lasts ten minutes.
STAGE 4: THE BREAK
This is a crucial moment, lasting fifteen minutes. It’s all about holding your last position and staying still. Close your eyes and begin to observe yourself. Feel your body and all the information it sends you. In fact, this moment is the main focus of dynamic meditation. Yes, because this is the moment when you look back at yourself. The moment when you discover the sources of all your anxieties and stresses. It will then be easier for you to find the right solutions.
STAGE 5: THE DANCE
In this final stage, close your eyes and start dancing.
Enjoy your new body.
Do this for fifteen minutes.
In fact, it’s a way of celebrating your new state of mind. Dance to express yourself and begin to revel in the new day before you.
Dynamic meditation: how long does it take to master?
Practising this meditation technique will undoubtedly prove quite difficult the first time… And the next too. Osho himself has said that it takes time to get used to it. He explained:
“It takes at least three weeks to grasp it and three months to enter a different world. But that’s not settled either. It differs from person to person. If your intensity is very high, it can even be done in three days.”
So, remember not to rush when you start dynamic meditation. Don’t be alarmed if you have trouble understanding how it works right from the start. There’s no fixed rule about the pace at which you progress, and you don’t need to force anything. Everyone moves forward in their own way, at their own pace.

Dynamic meditation is a rather original method of relaxation. Unlike other forms of meditation, which promote calm, it seems more hectic. But that’s precisely what makes it so effective. It allows us to externalize everything we don’t tell anyone, and everything we don’t understand ourselves.
How does it work? Well, it starts with some rather agitated exercises, goes through a period of calm, then ends in dance. At the end of the 60-minute session, you’ll feel calmer and more at ease with yourself.
