Vasopressin, also known as antidiuretic hormone or ADH, is a hormone secreted by the hypothalamus. It is released into the bloodstream by the pituitary gland. The presence of vasopressin leads to certain physiological changes. These include

Narrowing of blood vessels
Increased blood pressure
Increased secretion of ACTH, which stimulates the adrenal glands
