To my mind, this is a very interesting question that requires a great deal of thought. I’ve come to realize just how much a failure in love can upset people and create tension, yet paradoxically, everyone wants to know and appreciate this feeling or meet their soulmate.

WHY DOES LOVE MAKE PEOPLE SUFFER?
To better understand why love makes men and women of all ages suffer, we first need to better understand the feeling. You feel alive when you fall in love, you’re filled with joy at the idea of spending time with the one you love. Your heart beats wildly and everything seems more beautiful. Love is painful, because celibacy is not a situation that suits either man or woman. Being single has always had a negative connotation. A single person is always seen as someone who doesn’t like serious relationships, who moves from one partner to another, and who must be bored beyond a certain age. What’s more, love is painful because you have to make choices, such as leaving the other person when nothing else works out, or choosing to commit yourself body and soul to a relationship and sometimes leave everything behind for the one you love.

Love is a feeling that’s difficult to express. Generally speaking, you don’t have the means to put into words what you really feel, so this creates frustration as communication with your other half is difficult.

DOES THE PROBLEM COME FROM LOVE OR FROM PEOPLE?
When you’re single, you suffer from a lack of presence, you need someone by your side to show you affection. Love is the only feeling that can change our state of mind in a matter of minutes. It’s possible to be unhappy and an hour later be smiling again thanks to the person you love. So there’s always someone in front of you who can provoke emotions and either fill you with joy or make you sad.

This being the case, it’s not the feeling that’s harmful, but the person you feel it for. When you say that love hurts, don’t you mean that your partner or ex has hurt you? Experiencing a break-up or being the victim of infidelity can quickly call into question your opinion of love, because you’ve personified the feeling.
