Contrary to popular belief, “charm” is not a word restricted to the field of love: you can win over many potential employers by using the right language, obtain an unheard-of favor from a person with a reputation for inflexibility, or get out of any kind of faux pas if you know how. Often, all it takes is a little nerve and/or a good dose of diplomacy, which also means not being too shy.

Since the dawn of time, there has been constant social pressure to fit into a “predefined mold” or risk being seen as an ugly duckling by family, friends or society as a whole. You need to cultivate your difference at all costs, especially if it’s your way of being and allows you to feel perfectly at ease with those around you. It could be summed up as follows: cultivate your personality and make the most of it.

To measure your success, there’s nothing like hanging out with relatively honest people who can give you a few clues as to whether or not you’re attractive. Let’s face it, some people have a natural talent for dressing well, expressing themselves in public, daring to approach strangers or writing well: all of this, sometimes diffuse, is part of a particular person’s charm.

This is surely the most instructive setting for testing your charming aura. Why do sales people always smile? Because a charming smile is the first positive step towards making a sale. Of course, a smile isn’t enough – far from it – but it’s a pleasant first approach. Have you noticed, too, that the best salespeople always find something in common with you? It’s one of the most common and effective sales techniques.

It’s not essential, but it goes a long way towards establishing a bond – a bond that can then be used to gain the buyer’s confidence, especially if he or she has to pay several thousand euros. The aim of these maneuvers is to put you at ease, to make the purchase less complicated and to get you to sign… If you have charm or a strong capacity to resist pressure, you can also use it to get what you want. (discount, additional offer, etc.)

In transactions of this kind, never let yourself be intimidated and always try to keep smiling or show a sense of humor: a win/win deal is never achieved by accepting everything you’re offered.
