How do you confess your feelings? How can I find the necessary confidence and courage? Are some techniques more effective than others? Is there a method that works every time? I’d like to share with you 3 simple but essential steps to dare to reveal your feelings.-

1 – Make the decision to admit your feelings

I think the most important thing when it comes to confessing your feelings is to make the decision to do so.

And to know why you need to make that decision.

Because, all too often, lack of confidence and fears prevent us from taking action, and we prefer to live in our imaginations.

In fact, we play out our love story in our heads, telling ourselves that it’s more comfortable this way, that it’s sweeter to dream, but we don’t realize that meanwhile, our life is passing behind us.

In other words, when we ask ourselves how we can confess our feelings, we need to be certain that we’re going to do it.

And then, inevitably, the fear and lack of self-confidence become stronger. So let it go, let it wash over you.

You’re scared, that’s normal.

Confessing your feelings puts you in a vulnerable position.

So how do you dare to be vulnerable?

Personally, I think it’s better to know than not to know. It’s better to suffer one good blow than to spend weeks or months with fear gnawing at your stomach and morale.

In other words, it’s better to really live your life, even when it’s hard, than to take refuge in your imagination and waste your life.

In fact, I think it’s better to take risks, always, because whatever happens, you’re moving forward.

Imagine waiting months before confessing your feelings to someone who finally says no to you.

You’ll have wasted months, and maybe during those months when you were waiting with fear in your stomach, completely focused on one person, you didn’t even see the other person, who looked at you and had feelings for you.

That’s why, if you’re hesitating right now, stop hesitating. Stop wasting time and move on!

2 – Finding the right method for confessing your feelings

So how do you go about confessing your feelings?

Well, there are many ways of revealing our feelings. We can confess our feelings through :

A message,
An e-mail
a letter
A scribbled note
By asking someone to pass on the message
Or face-to-face
What’s more, you can be more or less frank about it. That is, you can confess your feelings:

By hinting
Or by going straight to the point.
Find the solution that best suits you, your situation and your desires.

To do this, take the time to visualize the moment when you’re going to confess your feelings.

Would you prefer to do it face-to-face or write a note? Would you prefer to take the plunge all at once, or would you prefer to go more slowly, but several times?

Personally, I’ve always preferred to do it in writing, and I still prefer to write my feelings to my husband. I’m rather clumsy when I speak, but I’m much more at ease when I write.

That’s why, in order to confess your feelings, you have to get to know yourself and what makes you most comfortable.

In fact, don’t ask the impossible of yourself. Find your strengths and go for it.

3 – Look for clues

When it comes to confessing our feelings, we don’t have to go off into the unknown either. In fact, we can take the time to “reconnoiter the terrain”.

In other words, we can take the time to look for clues about the other person’s interest in us.

There can be many clues:

The person looks at us regularly
Smiles are exchanged
Friends start talking and even gently teasing.
Clues can also be “virtual”. In fact, many encounters take place over the Internet. I know a thing or two about that (laughs).

The person responds quickly
Many text messages or e-mails are exchanged.
He or she asks questions to get to know us better
In other words, there’s a certain interest on the other person’s part. It can be discreet, especially if the person is rather shy or unsure of his or her feelings yet.

That’s why, personally, I’ve always liked to take my time. There’s no need to rush. It’s better to look for clues and even provoke them.
